Overview
Our most well known trip "Up River" to the land of Alex Hayley's sage
'ROOTS". It is truly a wonderful experience which starts from Banjul Port with a cruise directly up-river taking us on our historic journey 200 years back in time to the ancients trading station of Alberda, which gained fame in the slaving days for its Flag Pole. We then continue to the Museum of Slavery which gives a good insight into what slavery was all about in The Gambia. A visit to the village chief and we pay homage to the KuntaKinteh family and craft market for souvenirs .
Learn about the fort remains: see model of what its different compartments were used for and history from the time it was fist occupied to when it was finally abandon.
